 THE
LODGE:
Our rambling and rustic farm house can easily accommodate
up to 12 people, and comes with a fully equipped kitchen
stocked with crockery, cutlery as well as an electric stove
and fridge. An adjoining, wind-free lapa boasts the perfect
braai and party
area, and we supply the necessary utensils, potjies and barbecue
grids. 2 bathrooms with an extra basin and toilet, and hot
water supplied by electric geyser. The beds have warm winter
sheets and mohair or wool blankets
to see
you
through
those
freezing
winter
nights. All you have to bring is your towel.
SERVICING & TARIFFS:
Keep in mind that you are nearly
an hour's drive from the closest town and shops, so bring
everything you need for the duration of your staty. A fridge
is available however, and fresh meat, eggs, milk and organically
grown, seasonal veggies can be ordered from your hosts Rinaldo
and Magriet who live at Silverbrook farm about 14km down
the road. Wood is supplied free of charge and a cleaning
service is also available at
a very affordable fee, so why not sit back, relax and let
Joyce earn a few well-deserved Rands?
 Speaking of rates: we charge R100 per person (for non-hunters)
per night, with a minimum fee of R400 per night for the lodge.
Maximum capacity of the establishment is 12 people, children
under 4 stay free, and kids under 12 pay 50% of the adult
rate. A non-refundable, 50% deposit is payable to secure
your booking, and proof of payment must be emailed or faxed
through to us. A special group rate may be negotiated
by schools or other organisations when arranging educational
or corporate trips.
GETTING THERE:
The turn-off to RIBBOK VALLEY LODGE is situated
approximately 40km from Bedford along the R344 to Spring
Valley and Tarkastad. This is a good, municipal gravel road,
while
the 13km farm track to the lodge should pose no problem.
Heavy rains or snow may however cause flooding, so be aware
of potential access issues. Click
